As of 16th August 2022, Kenya has 82 registered political parties, registered under the Registrar of Political Parties.
Registration of Political Parties
The Political Parties Act, 2011 provides for the registration, regulation and funding of political parties.
(a) Requirements for Provisional Registration
  • Name Search Name, symbol and colour
  • Party Constitution
  • Minutes of Founding Members
  • Code of Conduct
  • Written application filed in the prescribed form
  • Prescribed fee (KShs 100,000)
(b) Requirements for Full Registration
  • 1,000 members in at least 24 Counties, regional diversity, gender, minorities and the marginalized
  • Governing body adhering to the 2/3 gender principle
  • Chapter 6 of the Constitution; Integrity test in accordance with the Leadership and Integrity Act, 2012
  • List of names, address and IDs of members
  • Location and address of the Head Office/County offices
  • Duly signed Code of Conduct
  • Prescribed fee (KShs 500,000)

NARC Kenya
National Rainbow Coalition - Kenya
NARC-Kenya is registered at the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties as Party Number 001 under the Political Parties Act, 2011.

We exist to acquire power emocratically and to provide political leadership whose focus is a united, stable, prosperous, democratic modern state and society within the framework of Rule of Law, respect for National Values and Principles of Governance. VISION: To be the Party of Choice for Most Kenyans. MISSION: ii. An all inclusive Political Party Founded on the Rule of Law, Sustainably Managed and Championing the interests of the people. jii. Eligibility for Membership
  • Any citizen of Kenya of the age of eighteen (18) years and above who accepts and adheres to the ideology, vision, aims, objects, policies, programs, directives and discipline of the party shall be eligible to become a member of the Party.
  • Eligible members shall be required to pay membership fees as determined by National Executive Committee (NEC)
  • Notwithstanding the payment of membership fees of joining the Party, the office of the Secretary General shall provide the details in terms of requisite forms to be used and has the discretion to reject or revoke an application for membership from any person, especially if the applicant is proven to be corrupt, with a criminal past and therefore can't pass a membership and/or leadership and integrity test. 
  • Membership fees paid to the Party is non refundable.
Categories of Membership
Resignation of Membership
A member shall resign or be deemed to have resigned if he/she:   Rights of Members. They shall enjoy the Political Rights of citizens enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya and in the Party's constitution. Duties of Members. They shall: adhere to the Party Constitution and any other rules and regulations formulated by the Party Organs. subscribe to NARC-Kenya ideology, vision, aims. and objects. participate in the election of Party officials.
  • Conducts himself/herself in a manner that brings the Party to disrepute.
  • Submits to the Party office a letter of resignation duly signed and a copy of his or her National Identity Card or valid Passport.
  • Promotes the activities of another Political Party with no formal arrangement for collaboration with NARC Kenya.
  • Contravenes Party Ideology, Aims, Policies, Objects, and the Code of Conduct for Leaders or the Pledge of Commitment.
  • Forms another Political Party. vi. Joins in the formation of another Political Party.
  • Joins another Political Party.
  • In any way or manner, publicly advocates for the formation of another Political Party.
